History/Personality:
Wiki page. (However, since she's a malleable protagonist, I'll be explaining more about her backstory and her personality below.)
Saeren "Ren Hawke" Angura was born to a tiny sect of her particular tribe of xaela that had been wandering the glaciers and mountains north of the Azim Steppe for countless years. In her youth, she had always heard voices speaking to her, only exasperated after the death of her parents at the age of 6. This is when she acquired the Echo and the Blessing of Light, though at the time, she had assumed it was nothing more than a star shower.
As she grew up among her people, she never really seemed to fit in, and there were whisperings that she was cursed, or perhaps even some sort of voidsent, planted there to make their lives harder. After years of neglect and abuse, she would run away at the age of 16 to Eorzea, where she would eventually become the Warrior of Light.
Ren is a very compassionate and caring person; it was her desire to help others that compelled her to become an adventurer in the first place. Though very strong, she is also very intelligent and curious, always wanting to learn more about the way things work, even if it’s not necessarily something she’s interested in. Ren can be a bit stoic at first glance, but once warmed up to, she’s a little bubbly and displays a sharp wit in conversation. At the same time, however, she is very stubborn and can be short-tempered, snapping when under stress. In addition, she is self-sacrificing to a fault. She suffers from deep depression and PTSD, and living with survivor's guilt makes her feel very tired all the time, but she will put everything on the line for the people she loves and the innocent.
Would you consider your character to be heroic? Why or why not?: Yes, even if she would not always consider herself to be so. Everything she does is for the people she loves, caring more about what happens to the world and everyone in it than herself.
